Amphibians & Reptiles 157 kuvaa 2 ala-albumissa Europe is home to 79 species of lizard, 32 species of snake and 75 different species of amphibians. Given the elusive nature of many of these animals, finding and photographing them is a challenge.

They lead a double life, one above ground with light and air, the other below ground, dark with water and minerals. Slime moulds are now considered to form a separate kingdom from fungi but as we have few examples thus far, for the moment they are staying in the fungi folder. Lichens are a complex life form that is a symbiotic partnership of two separate organisms, a fungus and an alga. The dominant partner is the fungus, which gives the lichen the majority of its characteristics, from its thallus shape to its fruiting bodies. These Galleries contain hundreds of incredible images.
